On Tuesday, June 22, 2010, the California Assembly on Aging and Long Term Care held an oversight hearing on California’s senior centers.

The Congress of California Seniors (CCS) and the California Commission on Aging brought together a number of senior center directors from around the state for a broad discussion about the challenges facing centers, how centers are changing, and what the state needs to do to prepare senior centers for the wave of baby boomers.

CCS used the hearing as the occasion for issuing our report: California Senior Centers, Preparing for the Boomer Wave. The report was distributed to every member of the California Legislature and to the media.

We thank the many centers who provided the information shown in the following report.
